Price (6/10) The price of this product at your local gas station or carryout is typically listed around $3.29. The price tag is a little overwhelming in my opinion, but it does not hurt to splurge every now and again and treat yourself. If budget is not a concern then by all means I would use this as a replacement for your morning coffee.
Texture (9/10) This drink offers a silky smooth texture that is comparable to your average milk shake (just not as thick). Sometimes you will experience the occasional clump or two, I recommend giving this a good shake before drinking.
Energy (8/10) Muscle Monster Energy Shake’s contain a lot of the same ingredients you would find in your average energy drink with the exception of a few ingredients, one of which is protein. If I have this drink handy I will often times replace this with my morning coffee and one cup of coffee is the only time I will consume a drink to help wake me up and get me ready for the day, and this drink does the job and replaces coffee nicely.
Flavor (9/10) Out of all the flavors that Monster offers (coffee, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) I would definitely consider this one the best. It has a nice rich taste, comparable to a lot of strawberry protein supplements. It is not too sweet but at the same time not to dull, having a great equally rounded taste.
Nutrition (7/10) Half Can – Calories: 110, Fat: 2g, Total Carb: 10g, Sugars: 9g, Protein: 13g Full Can – Calories: 210, Fat: 4g, Total Carb: 19g, Sugars: 16g, Protein: 25g The nutrition is a good bang for the buck, although if you are dieting you may choose to avoid this drink due to the amount of the sugar and carbs. 25g of protein is a fair amount for this product, although I would like to see more.
Overall (8/10) If you have some change to spare I would recommend picking up this drink and giving it a try. You should not be disappointed and it should work as a good “pick me up”. If you enjoy this, definitely give the other flavors a try!
